Potential Slayers may not have full slayer strength, but they are born with strength, speed and instincts greater than those of their peers, they also have the dreams about former slayers.
The Spell to find a Potential Slayer :
To light the aura of the new:

In 2003 Buffy received the Slayer Scythe, which was forged by the Guardians it was used to kill the last pure demon, then it was buried in rock and lost. The last Guardian tells Buffy that the re-emergence of the Scythe is a sign that "an end is truly near."
Buffy feeling a great sense of power from it, brought it to Willow, who casts a spell to use the essence of the scythe to change each of the potential's destiny.

it is later revealed the spell found Amanda. Amanda was near
Buffy's house trying to get advice for dealing further with a vampire she
has imprisoned in school. Dawn and Amanda rush back to the school, where
Amanda dispatches the vampire when learning of her true destiny when the
harbingers attack her. She indicates her membership in swing choir, and
her dislike of the marching band, in the same episode.

Annabelle (potential)Location: Sunnydale, CA Watcher: Giles and Buffy Birth: Death: 2003 Slayer Time: N/A Portrayed by: Courtnee Draper Notes: In 2003 she was one of the first potential slayer that made it to Sunnydale, during the beginnings of the battle against The First, Scared from her newfound destiny, Annabelle ran away from Buffy's house and ran right to the Turok-Han, who killed her instantly, leaving Annabelle's cross behind for Buffy to find. Only mention of her is this "Caleb is preaching to a teen girl named Betty. It seems like he goes to stab her, and she ends up bloody and gutted, but then she morphs into Buffy/The First." |

Chao-AhnLocation: Shanghai, China; Sunnydale, CA, Cleveland, OH Watcher: Giles, Buffy, Faith Birth: 1984 or 1989 Death: 2003 Slayer Time: 2003 Portrayed By: Kristy Wu Notes: In 2003 this Cantonese potential slayer was brought to Sunnydale by Giles, she did not speak English and had trouble communicating her needs to the others. However she was a quick learner and took her role in earnest. She became a slayer due to  Willow
Rosenberg's scathe spell she killed many of The First's minions during the

Chloe (potential)Location: Midwest & Sunnydale, CA Watcher: Giles, Buffy Birth: Death: 2003 Slayer Time: N/A Portrayed By: Lalaine Notes: In 2003, this quiet midwestern gal joined her fellow potentials in Sunnydale, however she was very afraid and didn't often attend training with the other potentials, She often cried and she really loved Winnie-the-Pooh. The First pushes into hanging herself because she can't deal with the pressure Buffy puts on the potentials. Her breaking point seemed to be when Kennedy called her maggott.

Andrew (Watcher in Training), Angel and Spike help capture Dana (after she cut off Spike's hands, by mistaking him as her tormenter). Then Rowena Allister Birth: 1983 or 1985 Death: Killed by: Slayer Time: 2003- Portrayed By: Iyari Limon Notes: One of the first potential slayers brought to the Summer's House in 2003, she also became the lover of Willow. She was one of the eldest of the Potential Slayers. Thinks Magic is crap but accepts it for Willow's sake. She became a Slayer, during Willow's Scythed spell, She survived the destruction of the Sunnydale Hellmouth. a year after the end of Buffy, mention is made that Kennedy and Willow continue to be a couple and are now living in Brazil together gathering together slayers. Kennedy hails from a wealthy family which includes a half-sister. She learned that her birth mother was Jenny Calendar although she doesn't know the full circumstances of Jenny's death. Later moving back to Cleveland as Faith's second in command at the newly formed Slayer Academy, Kennedy teaches the younger girls the art of the crossbow along with many other weapons. Rona is somewhat argumentative seen as passive-aggressive and she lets everyone know about her displeasures. She became a slayer during the Scythe spell and took quite a pounding from the final battle with the Turok-Han, but did survive the destruction of the Hellmouth, despite being badly injured several times. Birth: 1983 or 1989 Death: Killed by: Slayer Time: 2003- Portrayed By: Felicia Day Notes: Vi who wears a multi-colored beret, is described as mousy, skittish, introvert, cowardly, and easily frightened but that was before she discovered she was a Potential Slayer. She didn't show fear or slip into hysterics when it really mattered. She initially seems unfit for her calling. However, she proves to be an extremely courageous fighter during several battles, especially in the final battle within the Hellmouth. Officially she achieved Vampire Slayer status in 2003, during the Scythe spell by Willow Rosenberg. She kicked some major ass and killed the most of the Turok-Hans in the final battle.
